When I go on car trips, always my laminator. My husband thinks I'm nuts but its five hours!!! I don't fly often enough to pack anything weird. I love that you had your glue gun. You just never know… 🙂
My purse is always seems to have a random trinket or toy I took up during the school day. When I am in the middle of teaching I always stick whatever I take up in my pocket and it always ends up going from my pocket to my purse or the cup holder in my car. Hah!

I don't usually pack anything weird, however I always end out purchasing things for my classroom while I am away. I do always have books, but I don't think that screams teacher, but to some it may.

So smart! This may be included in my future trips. I ALWAYS have my purple pen with me. Maybe even two or three! You can never have enough. 🙂

Creativity to the Core
Store clerks always chuckle when I go into my purse for a pen and pull out a fat red or purple Crayola marker– they are my favorite writing tools. Small ziploc baggies of one dollar bills and quarters left over from our most recent city bus field trip are often found in there as well. And, of course, there is a collection of small toys which seem to propagate in the dark recesses of my book bag… dice, stray marker caps, centimeter cubes, small rubber duckies… I'm sure I could win on Let's Make a Deal 🙂 Thanks for the question and the linky! Kidpeople Classroom
I always have a purple pen with me too! And then my jacket pockets are full of random notes, dice, toys, popsicle sticks, etc.

I just went through my purse and pulled out 7 colored Sharpies! SEVEN! I mean who doesn't carry colored sharpies with them right?! You just never know when you may need to color code something 🙂

I always have a sharpie in my purse! I can usually find a binder clip and some paper clips. I have bandaids, Tide with Bleach pens, and empty ziplock bags. When we went on vacation to Hawaii a few years ago I returned with a shoe box full of ziplock bags. Each held sand from a different beach we visited. All the sand was different and I made a display of it later.

Teachers Are Terrific!
This is hilarious and awesome! You never know when you will need a glue stick! Thanks for hosting. I love reading your blog! I am trying to be more consistent with mine. Any tips would help!

Just a few days ago, the customer checking out in front of me at a store asked the clerk if she had a Sharpie. He wanted to write the amount of a gift card on it. She didn't, so I handed him one from my purse. The clerk and the customer thought it was a big deal. Not teachers I guess…
haha! Too funny! Other than enough pens to supply a small school.. I really don't pack anything out of the ordinary lol

I am just amazed you got through baggage check with something gun-shaped in your luggage!! We may have been asked to write glowing statements about your wonderful character or at least take up a collection to bail you out. Both of which I would have done ……. In a pinch. 🙂
I don't get to travel on planes very much, but whenever I'm going somewhere for an extended period of time I simply MUST bring a huge box of Crayola crayons along with activities that need to be colored. Oh, and I always seem to be dragging around a stack of lamination that needs to be cut out!! Thanks for hosting such a great linky!!
Warmest Wishes,
Erin

My hubby packed a glue gun when we moved to Mexico 😉
I always have red pens, Post-It notes, and highlighters on hand. Band-Aids are always in the bottom of my purse too!
Teaching with a Twist
My roommate and I have random plastic coins, paperclips, counters, and pattern blocks on top of our dryer that we have found in out pockets while doing laundry. Funny! Good thing you packed your glue gun. 🙂

Totally not teacher related (or maybe it is?) but I once had a can of soup in my purse… Mine did not come in handy like your glue gun, since I did not have a can opener in there as well.. #fail

Confessions of a Tiny Teacher
I once paid a cashier with what I thought was 3 dollar bills, only it was 2 dollar bills and a sheet of glittery smiley face stickers. I ended up giving her a sticker after the laughter died down ?
That is awesome! It wouldn't have surprised me to read that y'all had a midnight craft session! I carry my chime (Responsive Classroom) in my purse. I don't know why, I guess I just forgot to take it out and put it away. I've actually used it a bunch to get my kids' attention, so I just left it in there!
I love the fact you packed a glue gun for your trip, and even better that it did come in handy! This is the first time linking up, and I know I will be back! What a fun linky. Thanks for hosting!
