I’ve linked up with Chelsea from Blooming Into First Grade. Can I start first by saying she is ah-dorable and such a sweetheart?! I loved her blog the minute I clicked on it – it has so many cute ideas. She also has a great series: Mealtime Monday, where you can find yummy and easy recipes that she posts about. That’s a good thing, since I often fight with the kitchen and cooking in general!
In addition to her blog, Chelsea has been getting her TpT store started, and I was honored to be able to test out one of her units for this swap: Awesome Authors! Author Study Unit.
What I love about Chelsea’s author study unit, is that the entire pack can be used with any author the teacher chooses to study with her class. The pack includes general response pages that the students complete and put together as they study and learn about each author.
After the students complete their study on the author, they create a folder using this cute cover!
My favorite part of the unit is Chelsea’s Awesome Author Celebration. After your students have studied a lot of different authors with different styles, it’s time to let them be the authors that shine! She takes the teacher through detailed steps to create a celebration event for the students as they show off their own original story. It includes pre-planning pages, ideas, a note to parents, posters for the writing steps and much more! She’s thought of it all – this unit could be used at one time or on-going throughout the entire year.
