Christmas Kindness Freebie!
Yay for Thanksgiving break! I’m so in need of a few days to relax and spend time with my family and friends. Tonight I am headed out to dinner with a bunch of my girlfriends from high school to catch up. I’m so excited to see all of them and to enjoy a day with family tomorrow.
As the Thanksgiving decorations come down from our classrooms, it’s time to think about Christmas bulletin boards for our rooms and hallways. I always feel that by the time I get the kids to make something to put up for Christmas, it has to come down a few days later. So this year, I wanted to turn my hallway into something more interactive for my kiddos. Christmas is about giving to others and showing kindness to one another. In a month filled with presents, toys, wish lists, and so many “I wants” from children, I always find it necessary to remind my kiddos what the spirit of Christmas is all about.
Starting next week, my students will be filling out light bulbs and sharing the kind words and actions their classmates do for them. We will hang these light bulbs on a string in the hallway to create a “string of lights” to share our Christmas kindness. I’m hoping it will encourage the students to go out of their way to be kind to each other and create a happy attitude of friendship within our classroom. My kids are very kind to one another this year but we could always use more of that, right? 🙂
Thanks for the freebie! So cute. 🙂 I spent a couple hours after school today transforming my classroom into Christmas cheer. It took forever but it was worth it!
