These Beginning Sounds Boom Cards™ for Boom Learning™ help students practice beginning sounds! This deck will help students practice the essential phonemic awareness skill of identifying the beginning sounds in words and associating a sound for each letter of the alphabet. This deck even includes an audio clip on each slide to help students listen to the sound each letter makes!

How do you play and use this digital resource?
On each slide, students will click on the three pictures that start with the focus sound. Each slide contains five pictures, so on every slide, two pictures do NOT start with the focus sound. If students need help, they can click on the speaker to listen to the sound the letter makes. There is one slide for each letter of the alphabet. The letters will be shown to students in a randomized order.

These task cards are self-checking through the Boom Learning™ platform. These task cards can be used and played on any device that has access to the Internet, such as a tablet, mobile device, laptop, or computer!

Who is this resource designed for?
This pack was designed for preschool, PreK, and kindergarten students. However, it’s important to focus on the SKILLS your students need to be reinforced and taught. To use Boom Cards, you must be connected to the Internet. Boom Cards play on modern browsers (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge). Apps are available for Android, iPads, iPhones, and Kindle Fires. For security and privacy, adults must have a Boom Learning account to use and assign Boom Cards. You will be able to assign the Boom Cards you are buying with “Fast Pins,” (play provides instant feedback for self-grading Boom Cards). Fast Play is always a free way for students to engage with Boom Cards decks.
