Five for Friday Fun!

fiveforfriday
This is my first Five for Friday and I thought it would be a great way to share our week with you! I am TIRED!!  For the past four years, I host “theme days” during the last full week of school.  We have: Picnic Day, Camping Day, Ice Cream Day, and Vocabulary Parade Day.  Our Vocabulary Parade was SO SO cute that I’m saving that for it’s own full post. 🙂
My first picture is from camping day! My kiddos had so much fun using flashlights during Read to Someone for Daily 5.  I turned the lights off and they read all afternoon with flashlights.  Then, we read some camping books together and they wrote their own campfire stories.  They got into small groups and did an author’s circle with, of course, their flashlights again! 🙂
Ice Cream Day was lots of fun! I had an awesome parent helper who made the whole day much smoother!  We made ice cream in baggies, ate ice cream, played ice cream bingo, wrote about our own ice cream flavor inventions, and did a simple craftivity about our “scooper” year!

One of the most exciting parts of our week was having our ladybugs finally emerge from their pupa stage!  We were obsessed about watching them all week.  I think the kids could have stared at them all day and not been bored.  They were so proud that their ladybugs made it to adult stage!  (Keep your fingers crossed that they are still alive to release on Tuesday when the kids get back….!)
I continued to spend my whole week cleaning and organizing.  This is my next cabinet to tackle. I took this picture as I was leaving school today.  I just couldn’t bring myself to start on it yet.  It even looks exhausting!  I seem to think raisins, crackers, books, and binders belong in the same cabinet.
I hope you all had a wonderful week!  I’ll be back later this weekend to share our Fancy Vocabulary Parade with you. 🙂 You can link your Five for Friday pictures up at Doodle Bugs Teaching by clicking {HERE}.
Happy Learning,

  1. Your cabinet looks like mine!! I have been working my way through my room..corner to corner..for the last week, and I can't believe how much I accumulate (and chuck in random places)throughout the year. Great Five!! Love it 🙂
