Math Fact Spinners

Description

Math Fact Spinners are an engaging alternative to math fact flash cards! Math fact fluency is so important! Mastering math facts requires consistent and repetitive exposure and practice. Students need to be able to look at math facts and identify the sums quickly so that attention can be better spent on problem solving and critical thinking. Math fact spinners offer a FUN alternative to practicing basic addition and subtraction facts. These spinners make practice and reinforcement easily manageable for little learners! Mixed sums and differences are also included for use in order to challenge, revisit, and practice the facts.

How do Math Fact Spinners work?
Using a paper clip and a pencil (or a pointer), the student spins the spinner. The student then reads and orally solves the math fact list with the matching picture as quickly as he or she can! (Example: The student says, “One plus one is two. Two plus zero is two.” etc.) The student continues to spin and solve the other math fact lists for lots of practice! After landing on a picture, the student practices the matching list as quickly as possible! The student will then spin and repeat.

When can I use Math Fact Spinners?
Use them in math centers, intervention groups, small groups, homework, morning work, and more! Send the pages home for parent involvement, or use them as mini assessments. There are so many possibilities!

What grade levels would benefit from Math Fact Spinners?
Any grade level who is working with addition and subtraction fact mastery. The addition spinners include +0 to +10. The subtraction spinners include spinners from 10.

Please Note: This resource does NOT include assessments or tracking sheets for mastering math facts. This resource is designed to be used as PRACTICE for math fact mastery. They offer a nice way to switch things up from having students practice with traditional fact fluency sheets or flash cards.
