Celebrate Earth Day with this adorable writing pack and mini unit! Included in this pack are vocabulary posters, informational writing, opinion writing, explanatory writing, bubble maps, brainstorming and planning pages, differentiated writing templates, a reduce/reuse/recycle sorting activity, word work activities such as a sentence scrambler and word builder, and much more!

This pack includes SIX QR Code posters that you can place around the room. Students will use a device with any free QR code scanning app to scan the code, which brings up an informational poster they can use to research facts about Earth Day, conserving energy, reduce, reuse, recycle, and ways they can help protect the Earth! It comes with two different note-taking templates for your students. Students can then write a great informational piece using the information they read about and researched on the QR codes! My students LOVE this!

If you don’t have a QR scanning device, no worries! Simply print out the informational posters and post them in various spots in your room. Then, send students in small groups to each of the 6 poster stations to research and take notes before writing their final piece!

This pack works wonderfully with Common Core standards for first and second grade. It would also be very appropriate for third and fourth graders who need motivation in writing or additional intervention in writing activities.
