April Just Print Fluency Pack – Distance Learning

Fluency practice should be fun! This April themed pack contains 20 fluency activities for your little readers. Take back your planning time with “just print,” ink-friendly pages to promote reading fluency, comprehension, and reading engagement.

*During the COVID-19 Crisis, you can email this directly to the parents of the students in your classroom so that they can print and use this with their child for reading intervention. (Please include a note to your parents that they cannot share it with anyone else.) This is a single-classroom purchase and the students in your classroom are part of that license. This applies only to the families of your students (not other teachers, staff, etc.) I hope this helps you to continue to provide reading intervention with the support of your students’ families.

This pack contains:

• Fluency Picture Passages – passages with a picture key to engage and promote confidence in your beginning readers! Students color the rainbows to track their re-readings of the passage.
• 5 Poems and Songs to read, practice, and illustrate! These are SO fun and adorable to sing as a class and with partners! We keep ours in a binder and have “Poetry Parties” before lunch where we sing our songs and work on our fluency and expression!
• 5 Decoding and Phonics Spinners – great for literacy centers, small group warm-ups, guided reading, and partner practice!

This month’s spinners focus on:

2 syllable words with suffixes

Mixed long a words (ai, ay, a-e)
Mixed long e words (ea, ee, y sounding like an e)
Mixed long i words (i-e, ight, y sounding like an i)
Mixed long o words (o-e, oa, ow)

• 5 Partner Plays– one page “just print” plays for partner work, centers, small group, etc. Students will have fun switching “parts” and practicing their reading fluency!
