These Tap and Blend CVC Phonics Boom Cards™ for Boom Learning™ help students decode and blend CVC short vowel words! This resource is perfect for independent reading practice, word work centers and stations, reading intervention for phonics and short vowel words, blending practice, and more! Audio is included on ALL slides and for all directions! Boom Cards can be used and played on any device that has access to the Internet, such as a tablet, mobile device, laptop, or computer!
How do you play and use these digital task cards?
Students will first be welcomed into the adorable interactive small reading group. Then, the student will click on a short vowel card on the bulletin board. 10 interactive CVC tap and blend cards are included for each short vowel: a, e, i, o, and u. The student will tap the dots to read and listen to each sound. (Audio for each sound is included if the student needs assistance.) The student will then drag the moveable finger across the line as they blend the sounds together and read the word aloud. They can click on the green button to check the word they blended together. The blue arrow moves them to the next slide. This deck is perfect for reading intervention!

For security and privacy, adults must have a Boom Learning account to use and assign Boom Cards. You will be able to assign the Boom Cards you are buying with “Fast Pins,” (play provides instant feedback for self-grading Boom Cards). Fast Play is always a free way for students to engage with Boom Cards decks. For additional assignment options you’ll need a premium account.
