These NO PREP reading intervention Boom Cards™ for Boom Learning™ help students decode and blend words with digraphs! Both beginning digraphs and ending digraphs are included within this task card deck. The digraphs included are: wh, ch, sh, th, and ck. If you love my No Prep Reading Intervention Binder, you will love this deck! This is a digital version of the digraphs intervention activity from my binder. Students will love practicing their decoding skills with this digital version, and you will love the simplicity, direct instruction and practice, and student engagement! These task cards are self-checking through the Boom Learning™️ platform. These task cards can be used and played on any device that has access to the Internet, such as a tablet, mobile device, laptop, or computer!

How do you play and use these digital task cards?
Students will touch the dots and say each sound within the word. Blend the sounds together and read the word. Then, click on the picture that matches the word. The two pictures that students have to choose from on each card have been strategically chosen to help students really concentrate on the sounds they see and hear as they are reading the word. For example, when sounding out the word s-o-ck, a picture of “sock” and “sick” are included. This teaches students to really pay attention to the medial sound as they read the word “sock.” It also teaches them to cross-check for accuracy. This deck is perfect for reading intervention! You can also use this deck for assessment purposes.

Who is this resource designed for?
This pack was designed for any student who struggles with decoding digraph words, or any student who is learning how to read short vowel words with digraphs. However, it’s important to focus on the SKILLS your students need to be reinforced and taught. Therefore, many second grade teachers and TONS of special education teachers have used this with their struggling readers who are still working on short vowel words with digraphs, and they have found SUCCESS!
