Do your students self-assess their understanding of key standards and concepts? We choose a new focus standard every few weeks. Students move their magnets up the learning ladder according to how well they are understanding the concept!

Link up below with your Wordless Wednesday picture or take a look at others’ weekly picture! 🙂 I LOVE reading your comments and can’t wait to hear how you have students self-assess! 🙂
I love your posters, but in middle school, we have moved away from this because middle schoolers will save face at all costs and will never admit they are on a novice level even if they are. So while we still have scales, they are tied to evidence of each level. For example, if a student scores 80% or better on the level 2 work, then they are on a level 2. I wish middle schoolers had the innocence of younger grades and would be ok with not always being the best!

What a fantastic idea! I have not tried self assessment with my kinders, but with these posters I think it would work. Thanks so much for sharing.

With kinder I have always done the thumbs up/middle/down as a way to quickly have students assess their understanding but these posters are fabulous! Thank you for sharing!
