The Married Life of a Teacher :)

Today is my two year wedding anniversary. 🙂  Today I don’t have any teaching ideas or resources for you… I am simply celebrating our anniversary, thanking and praising Him for our marriage, and thanking my husband for his support and love!
I doubt many people realize that when they marry a teacher, their evenings will sometimes be filled with lamination parties, pencil sharpening marathons, and nights that often end up with both spouses cutting out game cards or center pieces.
They don’t realize that more often than they want to admit, they will experience a trip to Target or Walmart that starts out with the intention to buy coffee and paper towels…only to end up with a cart filled with school supplies. Many times, my husband has picked up some strange object in our cart, only to hear me reply, “I don’t know what I’m going to use that for yet…but I might get an idea for something later!” I can’t help but smile when he shakes his head with an amused look on his face without saying a word. He knows that my idea will probably end with me shaking my head while I’m covered in glue and construction paper, muttering to myself, “Nevermind, that idea didn’t work…”
I’m incredibly thankful and very, very blessed to have such a loving and encouraging husband and best friend! The support I receive from him in all of my crazy adventures in teaching is not something I take for granted.   I could not do anything I do without this sweet man by my side.  He is patient, caring, funny, talented, and smart.  He challenges me to think about things in a different light. He makes me laugh everyday. His faith, dedication to family, and his passion for what he does inspires. I am so proud of him and I’m very blessed to get to stand by his side in our crazy, beautiful, and busy life together!

I can’t wait to celebrate many more years together!
🙂

  1. This post is so sweet! Happy anniversary! I know my husband has been in the same situations especially the shopping cart. It is something I don't know if they realized what they were getting into when they married a teacher. I know I couldn't do it without my hubby and I am sure you feel that same! Again happy anniversary!!

  4. Your post totally made me laugh! I have put my husband to work grading papers a time or two, and I can relate since that's probably not what he thought he would spend his weekends doing, but he is supportive of all the crazy things I do. 🙂

Hope you and Chris have a wonderful anniversary!
