In most stories, a character does not carry the sa In most stories, a character does not carry the same emotion throughout the entire book. One way to help students who are struggling to comprehend what they read, is to spend time focusing in on the character’s emotions throughout various points in the book. (Often, young readers are so focused on events. They forget to talk about how the characters felt.) Let students draw the emotions throughout the book and then use their emotion sticky notes to retell the story. 👉  Do you plan to try this out with your students?
