House Hunters Exhaustion & Editable Bright Stripes Schedule Cards

My husband and I recently started looking to purchase our first house.  Right now, we have a little condo on the lake.  We’re spoiled.  It’s beautiful here and although I don’t want to leave, I can’t keep making teaching materials on the couch with my laptop.  I need an office – a real office. So, our search has started.

It’s horrible.  In the past few weeks I’ve learned that house hunting is nothing like HGTV makes it out to be.  They don’t give you 3 beautiful homes within your price range and let you talk it over in a cute little cafe until you choose one.

So, we went to meet with a builder today.  It would be great to be able to pick out everything I like right?  Well, this particular builder we went to meet with will not be the one to build our house.  “Oh, you want a roof with your house? That will be an upgrade.”  “Ohh….you want door knobs on the doors? That’s an upgrade.”  “You want a wall on your bedroom? Upgrade.”

(Okay, I’m exaggerating. But we’ll just say…I was frustrated haha!) Needless to say, we are taking a tiny break until I convince the Property Brothers to become my best friends and renovate a house for us. 🙂 🙂

I was touched by all the positive feedback I received from my daily schedule ribbon that I created last week for my room.  Many of you asked where I got it from, so I wanted to take a minute and share with you the pack I created to go with this.

I simply put velcro on the back of the cards and put velcro on the black ribbon.  This way, I can easily switch the cards on and off.  I tied different colored bows in between the cards.  The cards are laminated and can be written on with a dry erase marker or expo marker to show the time for each activity.
64 pre-made cards are included in my Editable Bright Stripes Schedule Cards pack on TpT.  The download also includes a PowerPoint with editable templates so that you can write your own activities on the cards.   You can find the pack in my store by clicking HERE or on the picture below:
I’ll send these daily schedule cards free to the first 5 people who leave a comment with their email address. 🙂  Thanks for stopping by!  I’m off to watch HGTV…. 🙂

  1. These are absolutely adorable. It's a cute spin on putting together the class's daily schedule. 🙂 Plus, with velcro, the kiddos can help you change them out! 🙂 I would love a copy of these; you're awesome!

  2. We ended up going with a new house, which was nice as we could do everything the way we liked. Get what you want now…don't try to add it later.

  3. I know its past the five…but I do love your idea and drove to a Hobby Lobby today to find the ribbon to try to imitate your masterpiece….but A'las they had no Dr. Seuss ribbon I was so mad. Needles to say I missed the post because I started making Trufula trees and lost track of time. It is a great invention and totally beats the ugly pocket charts…Thank You…..

  4. It's hard to consider moving out of your cozy home with your description. However, your need for additional space convinced you to find a new place. Though it's hard to leave the place you've loved for years, I'm sure you'll find another place to create new memories. Well, how's your house hunting experience so far? 🙂
