Christmas Questions!

I’m linking up with Michelle from Fabulous in First to share some fun little Christmas facts about myself and my family.
Hot Chocolate or Eggnog?
Could a White Peppermint Mocha from Starbucks count instead? I’m not really a hot chocolate kind-of-girl and I hate eggnog!  I do, however, love the holiday coffees at Starbucks this time of year. 🙂
Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them underneath the tree?
We don’t have kids yet so it’s hard to say how my husband and I will tackle this decision.  When I was growing up, the gifts were all from Santa except for the “big” present of the year, which was from mom and dad – and all presents were wrapped! That’s half the fun of Christmas morning! I have learned that I can’t set any presents out underneath the tree early.  This little guy likes to try and figure out what’s inside of them.
Colored lights or white?
White lights all the way. 🙂
When do you decorate?
I actually decorate the weekend before Thanksgiving.  I know that seems early but it goes by so quickly! I want to be able to enjoy my tree and decorations before having to take them all down again.
Real or Fake Tree?
Fake.  I have enough to do without sweeping up pine needles every few days! 🙂
Do you see the spider ornament hanging in the top left corner of the picture? That beautiful spider ornament was given to me by a student a few years ago, who left a permanent hand print in my heart.  I taught her during my first year at my current school and she is a little one I will never forget. She came to me very heartbroken about home life and in need of lots of smiles, hugs, and motivation.  She gave me that beautiful spider ornament for Christmas and every year, I hang it on a special place on the tree.  Even my husband has come to know and appreciate that little spider. 🙂  Christmas is about so much more than decorations, lights, and candy cane.  That little spider reminds me every Christmas season about love and showing one another kindness. 🙂
What Tops Your Tree?
When we bought our new tree this year, we didn’t realize that it almost touched the ceiling of our living room.  Our star just wouldn’t fit, so we topped our tree with a gold bow this year.  I wasn’t sure about it at first but it’s growing on me!
Favorite Christmas Memories or Traditions?
I love picking out a couple new ornaments each Christmas that remind us of some sweet memories or moments from the year.  Tonight my husband and I came home to find a new one on our tree! 🙂 My mother and father in law dropped by to take Weston out (Chris and I both had meetings) and slyly left this little guy in the picture below on our tree.  You can read about why it is a crab and the reason behind this family memory by clicking HERE.
Do you remember your favorite gift as a child?
I remember getting an Easy Bake Oven one year and a Barbie Pool House so I guess those were some of my favorites!
Do prefer giving or receiving?
Giving of course!
What is your favorite Christmas song?
When Love Came Down – Point of Grace
Candy Canes. Yuck or Yum?
Yum!
Favorite Christmas Movie?
The Holiday  – I watch it all the time! (even in the summer)
Do you shop online or at stores?
On Black Friday this year, I got most of our shopping done online around 1am.  I will shop at the stores, too because for some reason, shopping at Christmas time gets me in the holiday spirit. 🙂
Photo Cards, Letter or Store Bought Card?
Photo Cards! This was our Christmas photo card last year.  (Which reminds me, I need to go make THIS year’s card if I expect them to get out by Christmas!)  ðŸ™‚

  1. I love your Christmas card! I loved my Easy Bake Oven too! I have a feeling my mine was a way earlier model than yours! I like you ribbon at the top of your tree and think your little trouble maker is just warming you up for the trouble your little children will cause one day under that tree! 🙂 Hint: good ornaments go up high!
