Bright Stripes & Nautical Classroom Theme Set

This is the first summer of teaching that I do not know what I want to do for a classroom theme.  I love classroom themes but I am also at a turning point in my teaching career.  With the new Common Core standards, new teacher evaluation process, new legislation such as the Third Grade Guarantee, and the fact that my grade level is moving to standards based report cards next year with brand new curriculum maps…it is no wonder my mind is focused more on curriculum, lesson planning, and data-driven instruction than I ever have before…instead of decorations. 🙂 (Although, who can get enough of cute decorations?!)

I L-O-V-E-D my tropical theme last year and I had so much fun with it.  The main reason I loved it was because it was so colorful.  This year, I’m just going to make my classroom bright and super colorful for my theme.  That way, I can tie different themes based on what we’re learning into my room throughout the year.

I started playing around with some different designs and created this Bright Stripes and Nautical Classroom Theme pack a few nights ago.  It gives teachers the flexibility of using the nautical theme if they want – or – just using the bright stripes version without the nautical clip art.  You could even mix and match if you want some pieces to portray the nautical theme and others to be more general! 🙂   I’m hoping to do a mix-and-match circus/carnival theme next week!

If you want to take a look at what is included, click HERE to jump to my store and check it out!  It will be 50% off until midnight tonight. 🙂

I would also LOVE for you to stop back and visit tomorrow.  I’m going live with a brand new blog design that finally matches my blog’s name and is more “me.”   I can’t wait to show it to all of you!  I’ll have a little “blog makeover” freebie for you to grab as well.  ðŸ™‚
Happy Learning,
