Apples, Apples, Caterpillar!

We have been apple-crazy in my first grade classroom.  I don’t think I can eat another apple, look at another apple, or smell another apple until next September.  My kiddos loved learning, reading, writing, experimenting, tasting, and creating “all things apples” last week.

Here’s a peek at our apple week!
We tasted three different kinds of apples, wrote opinions about our favorite kind, and graphed our data!
We conducted a fun apple vs. potato science experiment and completed a lab report to show our hypothesis and conclusion.

We made homemade applesauce!  We also sequenced the steps we took to make the applesauce and wrote recipes to bring home to our families. 🙂

We concluded our apple unit by going to a nearby apple orchard.  The kids got to pick an apple off the tree and tour the factory to learn how apple cider is made. Yum!

We had a blast studying and learning about apples.  All of the activities above come from my apple unit: Apples to Applesauce! {The Ultimate Science, Literacy, and Math Apple Unit!}
To celebrate our apple week, this unit will be on sale until Friday at midnight (EST)!  Grab it for this year or stash it away for next year. 🙂 You can find this unit in my TpT shop by clicking the picture below.
Before I head off to bed, I have one last picture to share with you.  My fur baby got his Halloween costume this weekend.  He’s going to be a caterpillar! He can’t wait to greet all the trick-or-treaters in our new house next month!  (He’s also convinced that his mom is a bit crazy!) 😉
