ABC Nonfiction Books & May Currently

Last week, I explained my ABC nonfiction books that my second graders were working on.  Wow did they learn a lot about informational writing and about their animal!  {Click here} to read about how we started our ABC books and grab the planning page I posted as a freebie.

I wanted to share some pictures with you on how their ABC informational books turned out.  I am really proud of their hard work.  We’ll be displaying them in a bookshelf in our school library next week for students throughout the school to read and enjoy.  These are some random pictures of pages within their books. Take a look!

S is for Snakes:

I was blown away by the detail they put into their books and the great illustrations.  Many of the students even added a table of contents, labels, captions, and one student even put a glossary at the end of her book!
I also linked up with Farley over at Oh’ Boy 4th Grade for her May Currently linky party.
Head over to Farley’s blog to grab your May Currently copy and join the linky party fun! 🙂
Tomorrow we’re going on a field trip to a farm to learn about life long ago.  I am hoping the rain and storms hold off until we get back to school.  Keep your fingers crossed! Have a great Friday! 🙂
Happy Learning,

  1. You're alphabet books are adorable! 🙂 And I seem to have the same problem with my dry erase markers. I'm just getting ones from the dollar store until the end of the year. They're so darn expensive! haha. I'm your newest follower. Come check me out for some math ideas!

  2. I just found your blog through Farly's linky. Your "needing" dry erase markers made me laugh. I definitely have the same problem! I hate buying them :/ I absolutely love those alphabet books. What a great idea. I'm following you now and would love for you to stop by my blog! I'm actually having a giveaway tonight. My blog is still teeny, so chances of winning are high 😉 haha.
