Weekend App Attack! Week #4: Word Work! (Let’s Have an App Party!)

This week’s topic is: Word Work Apps!
This weekend I’m sharing two apps connected to Word Work.  If you use the Daily 5, word work is a natural part of your school day.  I’m always looking for fun and fresh ideas for my students to practice their trick words (sight words) and vowel pattern words for the week.  Here are some of my favorite word work apps.
The first is called Glo Paint Color.  It is a simple little paint app that is a BIG hit with my kids. They love that it “glows!”  They use it just like a regular whiteboard to practice their trick words and write sentences with their words.

This next app is a classic: Fridge Magnet Letters!  Do you use magnetic letters in your classroom? I’ve seen teachers use all kinds of surfaces for these magnetic letters – cookie sheets, the side of a filing cabinet, magnetic whiteboards, etc.  If you have iPads, you no longer need to use any additional materials for these classic magnetic letters to stick!
This app is $0.99 but I think it’s a small price to pay for no longer having to find a storage place for all my cookie sheets! 🙂  The best part?  You’ll never find missing pieces on the floor…or hear “Mrs. Wagers, there’s no R in this bag!!!!”  Ahh….app bliss. 🙂

I’ve had so much great feedback on my Weekend App Attack posts that I’ve decided to open it up to everyone!  There are thousands and thousands of great apps out there that have not yet been discovered.  Let’s share what we use with one another. 🙂 If you have a great word work app that you’d like to share, link up!

These are the linky rules:
  – Link up your app post, not your general blog website OR your store.
  – Try to stick to this week’s topic:  Word Work Apps.  These can be any and all apps that you
use for word work activities in your classroom.  Each week’s linky will feature a new topic.
  – Please try to include links to the apps you are sharing so that others can download it.
  – Include a link back to my post.  Feel free to use the button below on your blog post. 🙂
